Our History
The Alberto Balsam® story begins in 1968, when we launched our first ever shampoo in the UK. Back then, most shampoos were very basic with limited fragrances. We wanted to create something new and exciting that made haircare a truly sensorial experience.
Our shampoos combined gentle cleansing with luxurious fragrances inspired by nature, like strawberries, coconut and green apple. The shampoos were an instant hit, providing an affordable luxury to enjoy during everyday hair washing.
Next, we introduced nourishing conditioners to complement our shampoos. The conditioning formulas added shine and softness, elevating the hair washing experience. Our iconic touchably soft slogan was born!
Over the years, the Alberto Balsam® range expanded to include styling products like mousse, hairspray and gel. We also introduced more exotic fragrances, like raspberry, lychee and vanilla.
